This route is a principal connector road from the U.S. Border to Highway 1 in B.C. It crosses the border at the
"Pacific Highway Crossing". "Pacific Highway is the local name for Highway 15, but it is also 176th Street.

 The route starts with Washington State Route 543 to the border.

Washington 543 also serves the eastern part of
Blaine Washington, and also provides access to
the town's light industrial area.
After traveling over the hill, 543 starts its descent
towards the border.

You're now crossing the border into Canada.
The U.S. Border at Pacific Highway.  The actual
border is between the SUV in the foreground and
the tanker truck.

This crossing is used by quite a few passenger
vehicles, but it is the border crossing used by
trucks.

The line up can stretch to the north for quite a
distance on Canadian holidays.

This intersection is actually 0 ("Zero") Ave.
0 Ave continues east as far as Aldergrove,
about 15 km. east. It follows the border.


This camera is located at the intersection of Highway 15 and 0 ("Zero") Ave. It is privately operated and provides a sweep view from south to west to north.

The northerly view will show the Duty Free Store.

The southerly view will show the border crossing and the interesection of Highway 15 and Zero Ave.

The camera cycles from south to north periodically.

8th Ave. provides access to Highway 99 from

Peace Portal Golf Course offers excellent golf closest to the border. The Peace Portal Golf Course is one of the oldest golf courses in the Lower Mainland.

Once past flatlands near the Canadian side of
the border, Highway 15 climbs the hill into this
area, which is a mix of homes and hobby farms.

A short distance later, Highway 15 descends the
north side of the ridge to continue north.

The highway rises over another ridge before
ending at the Trans-Canada Highway.  You can see the northern end in the distant background.
Morgan Creek Golf and Country Club offers excellent golfing on a championship course, plus superb wedding and meeting facilties. The facility is located a short distance west on 32nd Ave.

After descending, Highway 15 runs across
a stretch of flatland south of Cloverdale that
is all farmland.
Crossing a small river and into more farmland.
This stretch of highway is scheduled for widening
to four lanes south.

This region has a mix of dairy and vegetable
farms.
Crossing over the British Columbia Railway into
Cloverdale. This railway is used to connect with
the Canadian National Railway at Langley and is
used by unit trains transporting coal and containers
to the Roberts Bank / Deltaport facility near
Tsawwassen.

The highway originally went straight north, but
this overpass required a bypass.

Highway 15 at Highway 10.

Highway 10 is a major east-west connection for
this part of the Fraser Valley as it connects
Highway 17 (used to access ferries) and Highway
99 to the west to Langley and Highway 1 to the east.

behind you!

Otherwise proceed through intersection. 
Turning towards the north alignment on the bypass.
Just south of here is Cloverdale's centre.

It has alot of western stores. Cloverdale is home
to the Cloverdale Rodeo which is - after Calgary's
Stampede, Western Canada's largest Rodeo.
It is held on the Victoria Day weekend (3rd
Monday in May). Cloverdale also has a horse
track.

Construction is underway for the first stage of widening Highway 15.

The project comprises of the placement of preloading sand and gravel mix along this stretch of highway in order to set a solid compacted foundation on soft ground soils.

Cloverdale is also home to the largest flea
market in the region. That causes a long traffic
line up on weekends, such as this one.

In the distance, the second ridge can be seen.

Just beyond the top of the ridge is the
Trans-Canada Highway.
Nearby to the west of Highway 15 are two excellent golf courses. Each are accessible via travelling west on Highway 1A to 168 Street. Turn south (left). Watch for signs.

Highway 15 at Highway 1A

Highway 1A - The Fraser Highway - is the old
route through the Fraser Valley before the
Trans-Canada freeway section through the
Fraser Valley was finished in 1964.

The Fraser Highway links New Westminster to
the west (left) with Langley, Aldergrove, Abbotsford
to the east. Highway 1A joins the Trans-Canada
Highway at Abbotsford.

This area is farmland, mostly vegetable farms.
There are some turf farms in this aream, plus
greenhouses. You can see one on the left side
of the picture.

The second ridge is in the distance.
Highway 15 at 88th Ave.  Throughout the
Fraser Valley, avenues are numbered south to
north, and streets east to west.

88th Ave is a principal road that continues east
to Highway 1. It also proceeds west to west
Surrey with a connection to Highway 91.

Highway 1 overpass. This is typical of most
overpasses completed when the freeway section
of the Trans-Canada Highway was completed in
1964.
Highway 15 ends here, but the road continues
on as 176th Street down the hill towards the
Fraser River.

The onramp to Highway 1 westbound will take
you to Vancouver.
