There
are two major volume border crossings in B.C. that carry the majority
of traffic into and out of Washington State.
One is the heavily used small vehicle only Peace Arch Crossing, the other the commerical and small vehicle crossing located east of Peace Arch, the Pacific Highway Border Crossing. Other major highway crossings in British Columbia include Point Roberts, Aldergove, Huntington, and Osoyoos. Peace Arch and Pacific Highway have a very large volume of traffic. Peak times are weekends, particularly mornings and afternoons. |

Through
B.C.'s Ministry of Transportation (Advanced Traveller Information System)
and the Washington State Department of Transportation, a number of cameras
on both
sides of the border can be accessed to see the volume of traffic and conditions at the border. Another camera - privately run by A & A Contract Customs Brokers at their facility - on Highway 15 just north of the border provides views south, west, and north in cycles. This page brings the various locations of these cameras onto one page. You'll see icons on the map. For each of the icons (cameras, message signs, and points of travel) a sign will appear once the icon is clicked. The sign will indicate what the icon is. The blue diamonds next to the camera icon indicate the approximate location of the camera. This page is optimised for 1024 x 768 screen rendition. How to use the page On the British Columbia side Clicking on one of the blue outlined camera icons on the B.C. side of the border will bring up a page upon which the camera can be seen. Appearing on the the map on Highways 99 and 15, there are black and grey overhead sign icons. These provide access to the real time message shown on the actual sign located on the highway. The real time message provides current border wait times at Peace Arch and Pacific Highway. Clicking on the region just north of the border between Highway 99 and Highway 15 and from 8th Ave south to the border will access a queue map showing the length of line-ups at both border crossings on the Canadian side. On the Washington State side Clicking on one of the green outlined camera icons on the Washington State side of the border will bring up a page upon which the camera can be seen. Appearing at the bottom of the map on Interstate 5 is a black, yellow and grey overhead sign icon. This icon provide access to the real time message shown on the actual sign located on the highway. The real time message provides current border wait times at Peace Arch and Pacific Highway. Clicking on the region around the Blaine region between I-5 and on the SR 543 sign will bring up the queue map showing the length of line-ups on the United States side.
