Comprising
of improvements to highways used to travel to and from the United States
border - Highways 10, 11, 15 and 91 -

Cariboo
Connector Project
|

|
The Cariboo Connector Project is a five year multiphase collection
of regional construction projects that together will significantly improve travel on Highway 97 from Cache Creek through 100 Mile House, Williams Lake and Quesnel to Prince George. The first phase of the project invovles widening and improving Highway 97 through built-up areas with rural areas to follow in subsequent years. Approximately 7 projects, which together will be completed in 5 years. Highway 97 is the principal north south route through the province. Gateway
Program Project

| The
Gateway Program is a large collection of localised projects designed to
enhance make more efficient, traffic flow across The Fraser River via a second Port Mann Bridge, across the Pitt River via a replacement bridge between Port Coquitlam and Pitt Meadows, and a more direct route to Deltaport and the Tswwassen Ferry Terminal from Highway 1 via a new perimeter road following the east and southeast sides of the Fraser River from North Surrey to Ladner. A graphical virtual tour incorporating current pictures and conceptual drawings, maps, and project documentation is provided to present a guided tour of the project matrix. The presentation pages include documentation and conceptual images of the new Golden Ears Bridge. The Gateway initiative was announced in late January, 2006. The Project's matrix is currently past the Public Consultation process and is now in preliminary design stages. The Golden Ears Bridge and associated works will begin construction in the first half of 2006. Kicking
Horse Canyon Project

A
project to replace a bridge built in the early 1960's and realignment
of the Trans-Canada Highway through Kicking Horse Canyon.
The project - a multi-year undertaking - widens and improves the Trans-Canada
Highway from Golden to

Interchange Project

project to replace the Mt. Lehman Interchange in Abbotsford and provide
a new alignment of Highway 1A across the

Okanagan
Bridge Project

|||||||||||||||
|
A
project to replace the Okangan Floating Bridge located in Kelowna that
carries Highway 97 across Okanagan Lake is underway.
The bridge - unique in British Columbia and Canada - is being replaced
after 45 years service.

to Sky Highway

The Sea
to Sky Highway is the local name for Highway 99 North from Horseshoe
Bay to Pemberton. It traverses the side of a The highway
