. . . your conscientious , thorough and persevering research agent in libraries and archives of Victoria, British Columbia

Victoria, as the capital of the province of British Columbia, is home of the British Columbia Archives, repository of historical records related to all parts of British Columbia, both government, and  private. The broad scope of this collection makes it useful to a wide range of people for many different purposes, but not everybody has the time or inclination to travel to Victoria to conduct their own research.

I will conduct your research in British Columbia’s capital city, in...

  •    British Columbia Archives

  •    public libraries

  •    libraries of the University of Victoria

  •    libraries of community colleges

  •    church and municipal archives

  •    court registries and other government departments

  •    other specialized collections in the Victoria area

  •    and repositories in the southern Vancouver Island area

I can also:

  •    advise on how you may manage some of your own research in BC, from a distance

  •    help you find other resources around the province that you might wish to contact directly...

  •    or contact these repositories on your behalf

If you cannot travel to Victoria, or you simply don’t have the time to do the research you need done in BC Archives or other institutions on southern Vancouver Island, I can do the on-site work for you, staying in touch and keeping you up-to-date by email as work progresses.

My clients have included scholars and authors, heir-tracing firms, family historians, genealogy hobbyists and professionals, the legal profession, and persons hoping to contact lost family branches and individuals.

Unusual clients have included a treasure hunter, a wild-west author, and an antique gun collector, all searching for the facts behind the legends that have grown up around sensational stories of the past.
