Company History Bellies, Babies & Beyond was created by personal trainer & mom of two, Kim Magotiaux. After Kim had her second baby in 2001, she wanted to get out of the house, meet other moms and get her body back, and discovered there was really nothing available in Calgary that catered to new moms and their babies. After researching what was available, she learned that those classes were nothing more than regular exercise classes that allowed moms to bring their little ones along; they were not a postpartum class that addressed the issues that a new mom experiences after having a baby. Utilizing the knowledge she gained from her university education in exercise and health physiology, and after consulting numerous physiotherapists and OBGYN's, she followed the clincial practice guidelines set out by the Society of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists of Canada and the Canadian Society for Exercise Physiology and created an evidence-based program that will methodically help mom get in shape and get her body back (or even better!). Bellies, Babies & Beyond specializes in helping moms get strong from the inside out, focussing on improving core and pelvic stability, balancing all the muscles to rehab and prevent injuries, all while losing the baby fat and increasing cardiovascular fitness. To meet the demands of modern moms who want to be fit for motherhood, Kim has also developed programs to help women stay fit and strong during pregnancy, as well as programs that accommodate moms whose babies have grown into toddlers and preschoolers. Since October 2004, Bellies, Babies & Beyond has been the go-to fitness program for modern moms and moms-to-be who want to start or maintain an active lifestyle. Our Trainers Kim Magotiaux Owner & Trainer Kim has lived an active lifestyle for as long as she can remember. Over the years, she has participated in many sports and activities on both a competitive and recreational level. Her first love was gymnastics; her current love is cycling. In spite of being very active, Kim has had her share of obstacles to maintaining her fitness. As a combined result of 2 car accidents (not her fault!), a serious upper back injury, and 2 pregnancies, she has battled weight gain, a bladder prolapse, as well as chronic neck, back, hip and knee pain (what didn't hurt?!). Her personal experience has fuelled her passion to help others, particularly moms, to get fit, strong and pain-free. Kim is an experienced Fitness Professional with over 8 years of experience in the fitness industry. Since 2003, she has worked at The Calgary Winter Club (CWC) as a Fitness Consultant, Personal Trainer, and Coordinator & cycling instructor for the Iron Kids Triathlon Training Program. She is also a substitute instructor for the Plus 55 Strength and Stretch, Core Conditioning, and Cycling classes.
