Valentine's Day?
|
Is Valentine's Day a "made up" day? Rick seems to think that it is just that, a made up day. I think that every holiday was essentially made up, or created by someone in History, and is just a celebration or recognition of an event. Whether or not you choose to honor or celebrate these events by recognizing them, is a personal choice. Now Family Day on the other hand, that is completely made up.. Regardless..Happy Lovers Day to all! |

It's made up just like every other holiday. I still like to have a spot of chocolate and a quick snog with an attractive female office cohort just to... y'know... keep it real.
totally made up, why? was that Rick's excuse for not getting you a VALENTINE?
Thanks for the link Dave, I actually have that same link if you scroll over the title.
Yes, that was my point, that if Valentine's Day is made up, then so is every other occasion.
And to answer to Anonymous...
No I didn't get a Valentine, but I really didn't expect one, as I know Rick's thoughts on particual occasions.
C'est la vie!
I know a few girls who broke up on, and the day after V-Day. It is pretty much the same, they have an expectation and it was not met. Some of their expectations, incidentally, were pretty low.
I feel like it's a fun day for simple, sweet gestures to the women in my life. A couple of good chocolates and a note, is what I do. I buy for my girls and Lisa. I put in calls to my friends that are girls. 4 of them said I was the only "Valentine action" they got.
I'm going out with three of them tonight.
Life is consistently good.
