Thanks for Making Fun of Me

I can't believe that somebody can't believe that I wrote that. What is there not to believe?? Is it poorly written or do you just think it's not cool enough to meet your spouse at a bowling alley on BYU campus? Would it be more acceptable if I had met my husband at the Cadillac, piss drunk? The alum mag asked for "spouse meeting" experiences and I shared mine.

-I assume this was posted by Shea
p.s. I just thought it was humorous. Nothing more.

a weekend to live in infamy

Ok, I thought the weekend went pretty well.
It was great seeing Dave & the marvelous miss M, Chris and Mary again.
Pizza was cool and the skate demo was awesome.

In the spirit of open mindedness and good will toward man, I've created a guest blogger account.
This account is specifically for those folks who drop by and would like to say something, but have not yet been invited formally.

The blogger.com account is
 Username: prblogger
 Password: magrath

There ya' go.
I'll work up a webpage with instructions in a bit and put a link somewhere on the blog page.

Everybody Party!! <~flames~>
p.s. Hey Mont, the animatrix was awesome, we'll have to schedule a time when Zac and I can return it to you, and perhaps skate a bit in Milk River.

This one's for Monti

It's amazing what you can find on Google these days...
How Shea got her groove back

The fact that I found this is interesting.
The fact that someone wrote it is fairly disturbing.

Skate n' Fun

Hey,

I was thinking we could get together on Friday evening to skate for a bit and then maybe do something that night. Maybe we can get some skaters out who haven't done it for a while. I'll bring my extra board. Does any one have any ideas? Also I'm looking for some ideas for our business cards. I've already talked to Rick; Dave do you have any ideas? Rick, thanks for welding that stuff for us! I'm out in Magrath for most of this week as Shea and Ryan are here.

XOXO, Monti

Band, lies and videotape

Okay, I like to troll the internet during my breaks, but I found something really weird.

I found a video series by Steve Brockway and the Spirit of Alberta band.
It was apparently released in 1985, so it must have been filmed either in 84 or 85.

The thing is, I don't remember it being made.
I'm sure I was in band during those years.

Crazier still is the thought that maybe he just filmed it and released it on his own, without releases signed by the kids parents or section leaders.

Here are the links to the sources I found.
Maybe Dave has better resources to be able to actually find and watch some of these videos.
Here's one link, scroll down a bit to find it
Here's another, near the end of the page
Sometimes, you find strange stuff on the internet...

South Country Fair

So I'm listening to Carter this morning on CKXU and he says he has recorded some interviews from bands and people he saw at South Country fair.

This sounds interesting.

He also claims to have recorded some cross-band jamming backstage too, so this week may have some interesting listening from 7-9 AM.

Maybe he'll type up some transcripts and put them on the Tongue 'n Groove website .
Yeah, right. That's gonna happen.

As you can see...

I am not there in Magrath... Yet

I screwed up I'm coming during Magrath days this next weekend. It looks like it may be just me and Mariah. Kaya is in the process of bailing, She's 6 and has a busy schedule, what with the record deal and all. what the hell was that. I threw that in to see if you were paying attention.

I went to the big rock and roll show Stage 13, I saw lots of bands, interviewed a few and saw possibly the wildest crowd surfing ever during the Sum41 show. By the way I saw so many boobs, by the end of the weekend I was starting to get sick of them, I was saying stuff like; put that flabby shite away... ya skank... Sheeesh... Get some class... does your mom know yer here flashin you junk to strange men. It just went on and on.

well Like I said I am comin for the big Magrath party. Lets have some fun

Here's a link to the big picture.

Dave and Park

Dave, that sounds cool. I have a thing Sat. evening. Any of you guys are welcome to come. It's a trad. polynesian food thing where they cook meat in the ground. It'll be good to see you.

The park is almost done, I'll be over this PM and tomorrow w/ Francis to finish it off. Rick, if you want we can skate later tonight when it cools off.

Uhhhh...

I'm bringing my 2 oldest daughters to Magrath this weekend.

Mariah 10, and Kaya 6, want some like aged kids to take them around and show them the glory of town life.

I am thinking of camping one night and staying at Ricks the next. I have been shooting interviews at Stage 13 in Camrose. We interviewed a few bands and I'll take pictures of some other stuff today. It's looking pretty nasty and stormy so it'll be one big mudpit. mail me at dsnnes@telus.net to arrange fun and frivolity.

Air Miles are your friend

Okay, did you see the Adam Sandler movie Punch Drunk Love?
Here's a link to a story on the guy that Adam's role was based on:

Air Miles Master

This guy's story is both cool and strangely pathetic.

A couple of things

Yes, I think we should open this up to guest blogging. Francis has asked me about posting. I try to tell everyone about this site so I imagine others look at it besides just us.

Rick, can I get those logos from you in a format that I can take to Paramount (I sent you an email)? The trip to Millennium and Source was a lot of fun. There are plenty of lines to interpret at Source an lots of carvage at Millennium, but man, that concrete in intimidating.

We'll be in Magrath working on the park Friday and Sat and Boarderline is confirmed for Magrath Days and the next week in Milk River at 2:00.

Dave, I think the longboard theory is cool. I saw a guy at Source doing kickflips on super-steep banks with one. I have some soft wheels that let you roll forever. Email me your mailing address and I'll send you that buyer's guide I have (tolymr@telusplanet.net). Also check out skullskates.com they have all imaginable types that are super cool. Also, I want to make a personal copy of one of my DVDs, what is the easiest way to do it? Can I use iDVD?
