Here's an interesting quote.

你好! Greetings from Central Asia

你们好. 你们身体怎么样? ياخشىمۇ سىز؟ Hey everyone, thought I should finally drop in and say something or at least let everyone know I am still kicking. Rick you will be happy to now that the loving watch dogs of the People's Republic of China have deemed your website "socially destablizing." Well...the truth is under the vision of the Great Helmsman, China has increased it measured progress towards regulating the net and during that process your blog and a lot of others have been blocked. The Beijing leadership has also decided that all bloggers and the blogs must be registered with the Public Security Bureau. So, luckily I found a proxy today that let me read some of the posts everyone has been posting over the past year and it has been cool to hear everyone is doing well.

I am still hanging out in Western China, in the desert paradise of Xinjiang. I have been living in the city of Urumqi for almost two years now, where I have been working and studying. At present, I am studying Chinese and Uyghur at Xinjiang University. For those that don't know, Uyghur is a language of the Tuckic (or larger Altaic) group spoken by Uyghurs in Xinjiang (Western China) and some places in Central Asia. It is the last of the Turkic languages which still uses a modified Arabic script. Loving in China and Central Asia has been a lot of fun and the landscape is sweet. I do find the religious debates on this blog interesting given the fact that I live in a Muslim area where religion is all important for most people. Anyways, I have a lot of stories and pictures I would love to share with you guys since I will still be here for the next half year. I look forward to talking to all of you.

Later skaters
Chris

What's on Jesus' iPod?

I don't know, but these guys figure they do.

That's funny.
Jesus.
With an iPod.
Get it?
It's funny 'cause it makes no sense.

Everyone knows that Jesus has a ghetto-blaster.
Duh.

High Dials on CKXU

Nice to see Rick and Dar out at the T'n'G for a visit with Brian Hepburn, who was in Lethbridge for a presentation at the university. Last time I saw them I was having a "happy" birthday and was unable to carry on much of a conversation.
Just giving a heads-up for a special edition of my radio show "Double Down" coming up Nov. 29. I will be joined in the studio by members of The High Dials, a great band from Montreal. (check 'em out www.thehighdials.com ) They will be playing that night at the Tongue 'n' Groove and I expect this will be one of the top ten shows of the year there. Their new album was at the top of the national campus radio charts and they are out on a big tour.
I did sound for them years ago at The Muse when they were called The Datsons. They have come a long way since then.
In Lethbridge listen to CKXU 88.3 fm and around the world at www.ckxu.com. The show runs from 6-7:30 pm. I've heard that the shoutcast has been fuzzy lately but the problem should be fixed soon. Does anyone know how I could record the stream? I'd like to start recording my shows and make them available as podcasts. Rick?!
I just received confirmation that tomorrow, Nov. 8, Andy Collins will be dropping by the station to sing and co-host. He's a singer/songwriter from Vancouver and will be playing at the T'n'G also. Find out more at www.thisiscollins.com
Tune in to CKXU and Find Your Sound!

Why....

is digression bad Dave? Personally I thought it quite interesting to hear what you actually DO believe these days. It appears you have been reading some interesting literature. I was going to comment and ask questions (out of geniune interest for your thoughts) I just hadn't had the time yet.
