BEEF

Thinking about BEEF on a BUN? It must be Magrath Days again! I usually don’t make plans to come through town on that weekend. I guess the last time I went through – it was our 10 year for the ’91 Grads, which means it won’t be long before I am at Dave’s 20 year status. Yikes – so that means that I will have to make an effort to come this year and make fun of Dave riding the 20 year reunion float! I am heading back from visiting my grandparents in Saskatchewan earlier that week, and since I have some time off, I think I may just head down and eat hot dogs, and hang out a bit more in Magrath? watch the parade with a flask in my cargo shorts, throw some water balloons at the parade, chew on some candy??

Here is the question: What is going on? I know Dave’s got the reunion gig, but what are the details of that? Friday night? Saturday night? Where is the party, dudes? Where is Waldo?

And a note on being pleasantly reminiscent: There are only a few people, most of them on this blog, who still refer to me as amos. I love the nickname, and I like that just a few core people in my life still call me that. It was a nick name given to me by Kent Saxton, If I remember correctly, from his south american influenced mission. I consider it to be one of two of my sacred nicknames – and that makes me smile! Does anyone want to join me in the memory of cruising around in a car with Kent and playing the Ramones “I wanna be sedated”?

Facebook?

I was barely keeping up to the blog scene, and I had refused to sign up to “instant messenger.” I really wasn’t even replying to email on a consistent or timely basis, and now this. What is this “facebook”? Anyway, once I found out my mom had already signed up, and got hassled enough (actually, I guess they were invites, so really quite nice of those folks), I finally looked into it – and signed myself up. I used my newly adapted version of my name Amelie – to appease one of my new expanded multiple personalities, “the traveling, drinking café, French girl” and put up some pics, and now I have to sit and wait to see my pseudo personality and I have any friends – a daily self-loathing and test of my self-confidence (at least my mom loves me). Good times. Anyway, I am slowly building up my list of friends, and hope to see you all on there soon, since everyone on this pleasantly reminiscent blog seems to have jumped ship (not that I could say I ever contributed much)? Come on back, blogging is still cool! And catch ya on the facebook! Amelie Shaver

A Stroll Down Memory Lane

After an email from Jared today, I decided to go back and read the post "Magrath Sux" by Jason. It is so fun to reminisce about the good old days. So lets hear those stories...I know you all have some.

I remember...

once being at the ramp in Magrath and Shu broke her leg and Kent carried her to the Hospital.

Jared punching a hole in Donna's wall on their Grad night, I also remember him coming back to fix it.

an egg fight with Jason, Danny, Jeramy, Jeremy, Jared, and Scott...that was in vehicles and spanned Lethbridge. It also evolved into pumpkins, tomatos, and any other vegetable that we could steal from gardens. I also remeber that evening ending in tears for more than one person.

being on the High Level Bridge with Jared, Jeramy, and Jason and a train coming when we were half way across.

just to name a few.

PS. Jared---No regrets. We were all mean at times.
