Volunteers

Two types of volunteers are needed.
1. Event Organization Volunteers
These are people willing to contact potential sponsors and work with hotels, restaurants and community groups to accommodate the rally. If you have promotional skills and would like to help, please contact the Rally Master. If you know the accommodation industry and would like to help, please contact the Rally Master.
2. Event Volunteers
These are people willing to work like slaves during the event itself.
Well actually it isn't that hard. You must be able to follow a tight timeline
schedule and must be a stickler for details.
Course Workers - These are teams of 2 people who are sent out to
sit on the side of the road and document to the second, what time each vehicle
passes. These workers are given detailed instructions as to what they must
do at what times. Course workers may also be expected to hand out the ever
popular Off Course Penalties and On Course instructions.
Social Workers - These are people who get the teams going in the
morning and run ahead to the lunch breaks and hotels to ensure everything is
ready for the teams as they arrive. They also tend to the questions and
concerns that any teams may have when the Rally Master is too busy.
Technical Workers - This a team of 2 experienced rally people who
run the next days course to identify possible changes or problems that have to
be addressed. These workers are exposed to the route a few days prior to
the rally. They have to be capable of documenting any necessary route
changes accurately enough on the fly that they are transparent. They must
have a good understanding of rally traps and have calibrated rally measuring
equipment on board. They must also know how to do running corrections
accurately.
Photographers - Anyone who likes to take pictures is encouraged to
send copies to the Rally Master.
Support Vehicle - AKA "Chase Vehicle". Two people are needed
for this task. The support staff may be asked to man 1 or 2 checkpoints
but their main purpose will be to park at strategic points and count the cars
going by. If one is missing then go find it. On transit sections
they will be expected to follow last and help anyone who breaks down.
Support staff must be able to drive a truck and trailer and be knowledgeable
when it comes to simple roadside service.
Event workers will have their costs covered by the rally entry fees.
Worker teams will be expected to share hotel rooms to keep costs down.
Efforts are made to find volunteers local to the rally if possible, to avoid
hotel costs.
