Activities

In the greater-Victoria area, there are so many things to do and see, that you'll just never want your vacation to end. Here's a few of our favourite options that are only minutes from the Manor.

City of Victoria

This beautiful old city captures English charm and West-Coast beauty. Victoria is the centre of the Island for arts and education, and the capital of British Columbia, this town has so much to offer. Our favourites include a visit to the Royal British Columbia Museum, the Legislative Assembly of British Columbia, and the Craigdarroch Castle.

Gardens

No matter what the season or the weather, there is always something to see at Butchart Gardens. In addition to the spectacular flowers, in the summer, you can enjoy fireworks and outdoor concerts; at Christmas, take are lights and carolers. This world-famous attaction is only just down the road.

Whale Watching and Sea Kayaking

Sidney by the Sea is in the heart of whale-watching country. Take an afternoon sail and get up close and personal with our favorite neighbors, resident orcas. Or take an after kayaking trip to check out all kinds of other marine wildlife. Ask Michael about his whale-watching trip with SeaQuest Adventures.

Vineyards

Take a day or an afternoon to explore the wineries in the region. Just minutes away, tour our local wineries. Or, take a drive up the scenic Malahat pass and visit the award-winning wineries of the Cowichan valley. Discover some of the islands best-kept secrets and take bottle or two home with you. A listing of wineries on Vancouver island is available from Wine Islands Vintners Association.

Town of Sidney

Spend an afternoon strolling through the quaint sea-side town of Sidney. Do a little shopping, visit the whale museum, stop for a coffee or walk out on the pier and watch the boats. Learn more about what there is to do in Sidney.

Sidney Spit

Visit this a little-known island paradise just off the town of Sidney. A day in the sun on the sandy Sidney Spit makes you feel like you've just spent a day on a carribean island. This provincial park is just a short half-hour passenger-ferry ride across from Sidney. It is part of the Gulf Islands National Park Reserve.
