Cerdd Gymraeg/Welsh Music
Welsh bands - not British! - are garnering attention on the international music stage. About time too. Welsh musicians that have visited Vancouver are: Manic Street Preachers (1); Stereophonics (2); Super Furry Animals (1); Gorky's Zygotic Mynci (1).
Musicians David Gray and Robin Huw Bowen both as a soloist and along with Crasdant have been here. Folk band Carreg Lafar have appeared at the W.I.S.E. Hall. All had honourable mentions and reviews in the Vancouver Sun, including 1980's Welsh superstars, The Alarm. There are many more Welsh bands out there. We'd love to see more of them listed on this page. If anyone has some bands they want to tell the world about, please let us know at: canit181@telus.net.
