Bruinen Gorges

Travel through the Trollshaws is never entirely safe, and the region west of the Ford of Bruinen, beyond the full influence of Rivendell, is surely the best example. While the road can be traveled with relative ease, its path cuts between the hills and valleys that provide a home to the great Stone Trolls. At night, these tremendous beasts venture forth from their caves, hunting for food within the wooded hills and rocky outcroppings of the Gorges.

Quite apart from the risk presented by the Stone Trolls, the Mountain Bears and Wolves pose yet another danger. Driven from their traditional dens by the increasing number of Trolls, maddened by hunger, they stalk the Bruinen Gorges in search of prey.
