South Trollshaws
Beyond
the Last Bridge, the road leading through the Trollshaws passes through gently
rolling hills and stands of birch and oak. During the day, passage through the
South Trollshaws is a tranquil, peaceful affair, the only dangers to the lone
traveler being wandering wolves or bears. As dusk falls, the road becomes
increasingly more dangerous as Trolls roam down out of the North, hunting for
victims.
Though
impressive in size, and incredibly dangerous to cross, it is well known that the
prime weakness of the great stone troll is its inability to venture out in
direct sunlight. As the rays of the sun touch their skin, it transforms them
into the very rock from which they were born, never again to walk the earth.
Three such beasts stand in mute testament to one vulnerability of the stone
troll, standing as a warning to their brethren in a glade not far from the road.
