South Forty Prince Fonzie
Our original stallion Fonzie, is one of the few remaining Henryville stallions left in the Canadian Horse breed. Accordingly, his bloodlines are very desirable, extremely rare and most importantly, in need of preservation.
South Forty Prince Fonzie
Sire: # 5159 Bromont Loupin Prince Black, no white markings. 1996 stallion, 14.1 hh, 8 1/4" cannons Fonzie is primarily of Henryville breeding. This bloodline is well known for good disposition and quiet temperament.
Fonzie is a very good example of Canadian Horse "type". He is intelligent, good natured, athletic, and has an awesome temperament. As breeding stallion, he is very gentle with his mares and is particularly good with first time or maiden mares. He also has an excellent fertility record.
He has a real fondness for children. Whenever small children visit the farm and want a ride on one of our Canadians, Fonzie always loves to be chosen for the task. When a child is put on his back, Fonzie will turn to look at them, sniff their foot to make sure they are stable, then will very very carefully walk away just like he is "walking on eggshells". If he feels they are the least bit unstable, he stops of his own accord, till they are safe again. Fonzie has been the star of many a heritage school report and project.
Although he had not been ridden for several years, we pulled Fonzie out of the field last summer and only 10 days later, took him to a series of shows. He took this all in stride and ended up doing very well. He won Reserve Champion stallion at both the BC Interior Canadian Horse show, and the Interior Provincial Exhibition. His appeal is not just confined to the Canadian Horse breed shows, as he can hold his own in an open show as well. Fonzie also won Champion Sport Pony type stallion, and Champion Sport Pony type Overall, at the 2005 Interior Provincial Exhibition.
