About Us
Thank you for giving me the opportunity
to introduce myself and my business, CG Office Solutions.
Together we can take your company to the next level or simply
relieve you of some of the burdensome office tasks that take
you away from your clients or family.
In 1998 I graduated from the Office
Administration program at Red Deer College. It was a referral
from the program’s chairperson that got me my first
and, just recently, my former job. I was employed with
Firemaster
Oilfield Services for eight years. In that time I worked
my way from receptionist to office manager. I obtained widespread
experience in Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, and ISO
procedures. I was the resident IT person in our office as
I did much of the trouble shooting, and was also the program
development liaison. Over the eight years I became trusted
as the proof reader and formatter of all major documents produced
in the office. I thrive on working in a busy atmosphere and
absolutely enjoy applying my knowledge in my work.
My education did not stop once I graduated
with my Office Administration Diploma. I continued to take
evening business courses to receive my Certificate
in Management through Red Deer College. To receive that
certificate I completed 1 accounting course, 1 computing course,
Organizational Behavior, 1 economics course and 4 business
options.
I also attended a P.A.
Douglas & Associates Inc. Assistants Seminar and a
Management
Skills for Supervisors course; also through Red Deer College.
While completing these business course and
seminars I finished the Virtual
Assistant program; again through Red Deer College. These
accredited courses were held virtually; that is held through
chat rooms, teleconference, bulletin board postings and other
virtual means. Class topics ranged from starting a virtual
assistant business, marketing your virtual business and a
120 hour virtual practicum. These classes were instructed
by established virtual assistants and several times our class
would go on ‘field trips’ to talk to other established
virtual assistants. One major thing learned in this program
was that virtual assistants work together to promote the growing
field and offer continuous support to each other.
As I continued to work full time, I worked
hard at establishing my business so it was reputable and
established when the time came for me to run it full time. It
was my goal, and my husband’s goal, that I could stay at home
as a full time mom when we started having kids. As of April
2006, I became a new stay at home mom. Being a virtual
assistant has allowed me to stay at home full time, challenge
me professionally and allow me to use my business knowledge
and computer skills. My work as a Virtual Assistant has fit in perfectly with
my new life style. I look forward to the challenges that await
with running my own business.
When I am not taking courses or working,
I enjoy spending time with my husband and kids, playing
with my dog (Shitzu Maltese), riding my street bike (SV650),
riding my dirt bike (WR250), camping, crafts, watching movies
and visiting with family and friends.
