Nuestra Comunidad  - a map prepared by Common Ground interns Kristina Bouris and Ian Scott with the residents of Rosario, Argentina. The sites on the map included soccer fields, community centres and medicinal plant gardens.

Children's map  - from a Common Ground community mapping workshop.

Victoria Fruit Tree Map - LifeCycles' Fruit Tree Project uses this map to find residents with fruit trees that would usually go unharvested. In the fall, they contact folks, pick the fruit and give most to community food cupboards and sell a percentage for the next year's program. In 2000, this great urban sustainability project picked over 20,000 lbs. of fruit!

Map of Beacon Hill Park - This map was done by Grade 1 students at South Park School as part of a whole school "mapping the park" exercise. The teachers owe a debt to David Sobel's book "Mapmaking with Children," which they found to be a great help. A resource guide for kids & mapping is currently being put together by Common Ground.

James Bay Neighbourhood Green Map Draft - Sample from the Greater Victoria Green Map currently being put together by Common Ground. Keep you eyes out for a print version by fall 2001. Victoria residents send your site suggestions!

Here are some samples from the Denman Island map atlas, put together by Denman residents, as part of the Salish Sea Mapping Initiatives in the Gulf Islands. A full copy of the atlas on this website is forthcoming.
