Most of us know by now that the Nintendo Wii sensor bar doesn't actually sense anything. It is just 2 clusters of IR leds that the Wii controller sees and there by can calculate several things including the position of a curser.
This is the whole sensor bar which consists of just 10 IR leds and 2 resistors.
There are 5 3mm leds per side. Notice the outer leds angle outwards for a greater viewing angle.
Here is a sketch of the circuit. The leds in each cluster are in series and the 2 clusters are in parallel with each other. The input voltage is 12V and the resistor colour code is red, yellow, black, gold, brown (24 ohms +- 1%).
