Note to all: There is One Error on my board. A .1 cap from the
555 pins 6&7 to ground.
I fixed it on my proto, but the board here isn't corrected.
***************************************************************
In My opinion, that circuit is Crap and does not work.
I don't know who designed it, but there are definate faults.
Here are a Few of Many:
1) The use of a 741 op-amp to generate a 1 to 4 volt signal is
stupid and doesn't work.
2) Pin 5 of the 555 is a Voltage Control Pin. The Normal
voltage on this pin is around 7 volts with a 12 volt supply.
All that is necessary is to use a pot to pull the voltage down.
3) The 4069 circuit uses very low resistor values. not normal
and results in excessive currents.
4) The divide by 1000 circuit is stupid. Yes that works, But a
simple 555 set for a 15 to 20 Hz osc would give the same results.
5) The Fact that he doesn't give a Schematic for the dvide by
1000 circuit (4059), I don't believe he ever built this.
6) The use of the TC4420CPA is Also Stupid. A 555 can drive
200 mA. Thats enough power to drive 10,000 Mos Fets as they
are a voltage operated device.
7) the Pots from pin 6&7 of the 555's should Never be adjusted
to Minimum, It can Distroy the 555's. Another Fault. (I Knew
this and added a Limiting Resistor in Series, on the proto board)
8) the use of a 10k resistor to the base of the 2N3055 is way
too high. This is a Power Transistor and Require Current
Drive. This Resistor Limits Current Severely.
9) And his test procedure write-ups on pages 75, 76, 77 is rediculuous.
Every Time "he says if it doesn't work, there is a Faulty Part".
Other than the One Error I made on the board, which I fixed,
IT IS TOTALLY CORRECT to his Schematic, All New and GOOD
Parts, but does Not Work as stated.
Sorry But my opinion: This Whole Design is Faulty. I SERIOUSLY
Doubt anyone has this Actual Circuit Working.
My Suggestion to anyone wanting to do Hydrogen Generation,
is to just build my PWM Circuit or something simular.
