RESTORATIVE JUSTICE SUMMER TRAINING INSTITUTE
August 11-22, 2003
CJI's second annual Restorative Justice Summer Training Institute builds upon the success of the agency's previous institutes held in August 2002 and March 2003. We are very pleased to have expanded this year's summer institute to two weeks in response to requests for additional skill-building opportunities.

Customized Training Packages

We have provided training to schools, public employees, First Nations communities, church groups, residential care workers, and justice professionals including police, crown counsel, Northern Justices of the Peace, and BC Provincial Court judges. Customized training can be tailored to the needs of your organization or group. Contact CJI's training and education coordinator at training@cjibc.org.

CJI Staff Trainers

Our trainers have an in-depth understanding of theory combined with valuable hands-on experience, resulting in a training approach that is both insightful and practical.

Training Materials

CJI's training materials were first developed in 1990 to meet the growing need for a comprehensive victim-offender mediation training program. The resulting training materials and videotape were purchased by programs operating across Canada and internationally. In 1995, all three training manuals were extensively revised and expanded. They continue to be the most extensive victim-offender mediation training materials available in North America.

Practicum Program

CJI’s practicum program gives participants opportunity to gain significant work experience mediating “minor” criminal offences referred to the agency’s Victim-Offender Reconciliation Program.
