I brought it home from Spokane in July, cut open the big cardboard
box and like a whale giving birth this 12 foot kayak slipped onto the grass.
With some measure of uncertainty I launched it in a small nearby lake and
soon was scooting all over the lake. This small kayak has opened a wonderful
world to me that I had no idea existed. At 28 pounds it is light to handle,
virtually untippable, and will float in a 'heavy dew'. It moves silently
and is very easy to paddle. The rotating motion of the kayak paddle evens
out the stress, different from paddling a canoe. I've followed beaver and
muskrat into shore where they began feeding quite unconcerned. Once a young
muskrat came right up to the kayak and chattered away to me.
In the summer of 1992 I purchased a two man kayak from Kentucky and
then Jeannette could share the same delights I was experiencing.
