WATER FALLS
The West Kootenays is the home of many water falls. As I visit them, I'll add images to this section.
GLADE FALLS
Glade Falls is a spectacular sight in the spring freshet. There are three cascading falls that tumble down through a steep sided canyon. The first fall is extremely easy to reach and see. It is only a couple of hundred meters from the parking spot on an easy grade.
However! If you want to see the remaining falls, it is a very steep climb up the face of the canyon wall. This is serious stuff and not for weak hearts or small children. A missed step on the edge here is certain death.
Placing your mouse pointer on the image will bring up a title.
WILSON CREEK FALLS
Wilson Creek Falls is found 11.5 kM up the Wilson Creek road from the highway bridge just south of Rosebery. At this point leave the main logging road and travel up the road to the right just before Wilson Creek bridge. At 0.7 kM you will see a 4X4" post with the Wilson Creek Falls trail marker. An easy trail wanders along the creek valley and down to the falls. As you approach the falls it is a rain forest environment. Be careful, everything under foot is extremely slippery! The falls drop 208 feet and throws up a huge spray.
All the images in this section were provided by a CANON A50 digital camera.
