Margaret was probably the sister of Robert Robb (1816-1890) who married Mary M. [-?-] (1812-1897)1876 and had son Benjamin Rugh Robb who married Jane McKelvey (see #1192). In the 1850 and 1870 federal censuses for Fairfield Township and Ligonier Township, respectively, George was listed as a farmer.1877 In 1880, George was living in Ligonier Township with two of his unmarried daughters, Margaret Shrum and Adaline Shrum.1878

Robert7 Shrum; born circa 1842; in 1870, Robert Shrum was living in the household of Elizabeth Elder, age 50, and her children Elizabeth Elder, age 20, and William Elder, age 15.1879 They were next door to Robert's parents. By 1880, Robert, still living near his father in Ligonier Township, had married Catherine [-?-], born June 1846, and had children (1) Adala Shrum, born circa 1871, and (2) George Shrum, born circa 1873.1880 In 1900, Robert and Catherine but no children were still living in Ligonier Township.1881

In 1826, Ephrain and Mary were living in Fayette County, Indiana.1883 In 1850, the family was living in Jenning Township, Fayette County, Indiana, where Ephraim was enumerated as a cabinet maker.1884 Others listed in the household in 1850, all presumed to be children, were Miriam Mills, born circa 1822 in Indiana; William Mills, born circa 1827 in Indiana; and Samatha Mills, born circa 1829 in Indiana. Their dates do not mesh with those listed next.

In 1826, Daniel and Elizabeth were living in either Clinton or Fayette County, Ohio.1886 In 1850, they were in Wilmington Township, Clinton County, Ohio, where Daniel was enumerated as a trader.1887 Living in the same household in 1850 was daughter Emily, her husband Joshua Ellis, enumerated as a druggist, and their child Eugene Ellis.

Adams.1888 Her maiden name was Turner. Hulda Hall (#614) was a child of Richard and Rebecca (Whitsett) Hall (#223); hence Abner and Hulda were first cousins.

Abner was a farmer and lived in the Sabina area of Clinton County, Ohio. He was a Justice of the Peace and had numerous other civic functions, such as Treasurer and Trustee. In 1850 and 1860, Abner, Hulda and family were living in Richland Township, Clinton County, Ohio.In 1870 Abner was still in Richland Township, with second wife Sarah, born circa 1820 in New Jersey. 1889

In 1870, Mary and children were living next door to Richard’s father in Richland Township, Clinton County, Ohio (page 582).
  1080 ii. Eliza Ann Mills; born 20 January 1834; died November 1903; married, 4 March 1858, Austin Blackmore; born circa 1830 in Ohio; died November 1903. In 1880, Austin, Eliza and children Emily and Flora were living in Union Township, Clinton County, Ohio, where Austin was listed as a farmer.1891 Their children were (1) Frank Clifford Blackmore; (2) Emily May Blackmore, born circa 1860 in Ohio, enumerated as a school teacher in 1880, when she was living with her parents, married John W. Rodgers; and (3) Flora Blance Blackmore, born circa 1872 in Ohio.
  1081 iii. Daniel Harvey Mills; born 18 April 1835; died 29 April 1910; married, 21 December 1858, Jemina Ann Roberds; born April 1840; died 20 April 1911. She was a daughter of Elias Roberds. Daniel was a Civil War veteran, serving in Company B, 149th Regiment, in 1864. He was a farmer and lived in the Sabina area of Clinton County, Ohio. In 1880, Daniel, Jeminah, and sons Charles and Edwin were living in Richland Township, Clinton County,1892 According to The History of Clinton County, Daniel was associated with the Christian Church, and his wife with the Methodist Church. Their children were (1) Emma C. Mills; (2) Frank A. Mills; (3) Charles Milton Mills, born circa 1866 in Ohio, married (first) Harriet Elizabeth Greely, married (second) Lucy Greely, married (third) Frostie R. Hallan; and (4) Edwin C. Mills, born circa 1868 in Ohio, married Lizzie E. Schweickart.
  1082 iv. Burwell B. Mills; born 29 April 1837. Burwell, according to The History of Clinton County,1893 was in the Civil War and died (date not known) in a hospital in Indiana.
  1083 v. Angeline Mills; born 6 July 1839 in Ohio; died 12 November 1923 in Burlingame, Dragoon Township, Osage County, Kansas; married, 24 August 1864, Alexander C. Easter; born 4 November 1838 in Ohio; died 15 January 1930 in Osage County, Kansas. In 1880, Alexander, Angeline and children Perry, Grace and Burwell were living in Dragoon Township, Osage County, Kansas, where Alexander was enumerated as a minister and farmer.1894 Their children were (1) Perry Hall Easter, born 15 January 1866, died 1903, married Ann Easter; (2) Grace M. Easter, born 14 June 1868, died 1950; (3) Burwell Mills Easter, born 19 April 1871, married Roberta Beulah Garth; (4) John Clifford Easter, born 1872, died 2 August 1872; and (5) Cornelia Patience Easter, born and died 11 June 1879.1895

I can nor relate this Charles Hughes with the descendants of David and Emily (Whitsett) Hughes. In 1880, Charles, Rebecca and children were living in Wilmington Township, Clinton County, Ohio, where Charles was enumerated as a carpenter.1896 Their children were (1) Ada Hughes, born circa 1868 in Ohio; and (2) Myrtle Hughes, born circa 1873 in Ohio, married James McWilliams.
  1085 vii. Burzilla Mills; born 4 May 1849; died 1874; married, 2 November 1869, George D. H. Glass; born 2 January 1846. Their child was (1) Mary B. Glass, married Frank Caudle.
  1086 viii. Werden (Worden?) Mills; born 16 July 1850; died 6 July 1911; married, 14 April 1875, Sarah Jane Spurgeon; born 23 February 1851. Their children were (1) Flora May Mills, married William H. Morrow; and (2) Earl B. Mills, married Bashie Yeazel.
  1087 ix. Frank B. Mills; born 30 April 1856 in Ohio; married, 27 December 1882, Frances (Frankie) Shrieves (?Shreves); born 2 January 1859 in New York or Ohio. Their children were (1) Mary E. Mills, born 8 November 1883 in Ohio; married Lawrence K. Landon; and (2) Maynard S. Mills, born 14 February 1886 in Ohio; married Helene Strodtbeck. In 1900, the family was living in Wilmington, Clinton County, Ohio (page 12A), where Frank was enumerated as a lawyer.

In 1850 (census page 67), and 1860 (page 0?), Samuel, Mary Ann, and family were living in Monmouth, Warren County, Illinois, where Samuel was farming. By 1870, Mary Ann had died and Samuel had married Mary [—?—]; born circa 1831 in ?Pennsylvania. Samuel was still living in Monmouth, Warren County, Illinois in 1870 (page 135).

In 1850, Jehu, Caroline and children were living in Richland Township, Clinton County, Ohio, where Jehu was enumerated as a farmer.1899 They were living next door to Caroline (Mills) Reed's brother Joseph Addison Reed and his family.

In 1850, Joseph, Margaret, and children were living in Richland Township, Clinton County, Ohio, where Joseph was enumerated as a miller. Also living with the family in 1850 was Patience Adams, born circa 1777 in New Jersey. She was probably the mother of Margaret.

Their children were (1) May Hortense Plummer, married William McFadden; (2) Orpha Fay Plummer, married Allen Lincoln Dunn; and (3) Marcus Fayette Plummer.

In 1850, Charles, Emily and children David, Margaret E., Lydia J., and James A. were living in Jasper Township, Fayette County, Ohio, where Charles was enumerated as a farmer.1903 Sometime between 1850 and 1880, Charles moved to Illinois where three of his children by second wife, Evaline, were born. Charles M. Mill was in Montgomery County, Iowa, in 1880, where his occupation was reported as "boarding house."1904 With him in 1880 was second wife Evaline, and their children Charles, Hattie, Alice, Florence and Harry; also several boarders including Anthony G. Wilson, age 28, "gambler."

Clifford (#536); died summer 1845. He was a son of Robert Clifford (#211) of Harrison County, and a grandson of Edward Clifford, who was a brother of Rebecca Hall's grandmother Mary (Whitsett) Clifford. Hence Rebecca and James were second cousins. James S. Clifford married (first), 7 January 1836 in Harrison County, Kentucky, Elizabeth Kinsler (also spelled Kinslow);1910 apparently Elizabeth died shortly after giving birth to their son William Clifford in 1838.

In 1850, Rebecca Clifford, widow, and children (1) Harriet A. Clifford, born circa 1840 in Kentucky and (2) John E. Clifford, born circa 1844 in Kentucky, were living with Rebecca's mother, Rebecca (Whitsett) Hall, in Richland Township, Clinton County, Ohio.1911 See under James S. 621. RICHARD6 HALL (Rebecca5 Whitsett, Mary4 Clifford, Charles3, James2, unknown Clifford1); born April 1822 in Kentucky; married NANCY LAIL; born June 1833 in Kentucky. Nancy was a daughter of John and Burzilla (Brown) Lail of Harrison County, Kentucky.1912 (See Chart 4 "Association between Cliffords and Whitsetts and an early Lail family of Harrison County, Kentucky.")

According to The History of Clinton County [Ohio], Richard came to Clinton County from Kentucky in 1850.1913 He operated a saw mill for three years and then moved to Jackson County, Missouri, for several months before moving back to Clinton County, Ohio. Both Richard and Nancy were members of the Sabina Christian Church.

In 1850, Richard and Nancy, no children, were living in Richland Township, Clinton County, Ohio (the Sabina area), where Richard was enumerated as a miller.1914 Also in the household in 1850 was Richard's brother, Daniel Hall. In 1860 and 1880, Richard, Nancy and children were still in Richland Township. Also in the family in 1860 was Richard's mother.1915 In 1900, Richard, Nancy and son Charles were still in Richland Township, where Nancy was reported to have had nine children, six living; their son Charles was enumerated as a farmer in 1900.1916

In 1900, George and wife Elizabeth [-?-], born July 1854 in Ohio, and children were living in Richland Township, Clinton County, Ohio (nine households from George's father), where George was listed as a farmer, and Elizabeth was reported having six children, five living.1917 Known children of George and Elizabeth listed in the 1900 federal census (all born in Ohio): (1) Florence B. Hall, born December 1881; (2) Ida E. Hall, born July 1884; (3) John A, born June 1886 (enumerated as a farm laborer in 1900); (4) Frankie V. Hall (daughter), born March 1894; and (5) Clarie? A. Hall (daughter), born May 1897.
  1130 iii. Jeptha Hall (son); born circa 1857 in Ohio.
  1131 iv. Albert Hall; born circa 1863 in Ohio.
  1132 v. Rufus Hall; born circa 1866 in Ohio. I believe he was the Rufus S. Hall who married, 11 March 1888 in Harrison County, Kentucky, Margaret Lail; born 1858 in Harrison County, Kentucky; died 1920 in Harrison County, Kentucky. She was a daughter of George and Sarah Jane (Grey) Lail,1918 and therefore would have been a niece of Nancy Lail who married Richard Hall (see Chart 4"Association between Cliffords and Whitsetts and an early Lail family of Harrison County, Kentucky").

JOHN6 WESLEY WHITSETT (Charles5, Mary4 Clifford, Charles3, James2, unknown Clifford1); born 1820 in Fayette County, Indiana; on 19 March 1851, he married in Nicholas County, Kentucky, MARY ALEXANDER; born circa 1827 in Kentucky. In 1850, John, not yet married, was living in the household of John and Mahala King in Jennings County, Indiana, where John was listed as a farmer.1919 In 1880, John W., enumerated as a furniture dealer, Mary and children Barton, age 19 (was he William?), and Burnside, age 17 (Robert Burns) were living in Lebanon Township, Boone County, Indiana.1920

In 1860, Abraham, Margaret and children Flora and Charles were living in Jasper Township, Fayette County, Ohio (page 501), where Abraham was enumerated as minister. Margaret apparently died before the 1870 federal census. In 1870 (census page 448) and 1880 (page 388), Abraham, wife Anna [——], born circa 1840 in Virginia, and family were in Jasper, Fayette County, Ohio, where Abraham was listed as a farmer.

In the list of children below, children i. and ii would be those of Margaret; children iii - viii could be either those of Margaret or Anna; children ix-xi would be those of Anna.

(1) Worth Cummins, born September 1873. In 1900, Worth, single, was living with his parents in Springfield, Ohio, where Worth was listed as a salesman.
(2) Blanche (Minnie) Cummins, born July 1875; married Sahim Halow, born circa 1876 in Syria. One child was probably Vera L. Halow, born circa 1908 in Ohio. In 1930, Blanche Halow was a widow, living with her parents in Pasadena, California,
(3) Horace D. Cummins, born October 1877; married [—?—]. In 1910, Horace was living with his father as a lodger in Cincinnati, Ohio, where Horace was enumerated as a railroad conductor. By 1920, Horace was living with his son Horace D., Jr., (born circa 1909 in Ohio) in the same household as his parents. Horace (Sr.), widower, and Horace (Jr.) were still with Robert and Flora in 1930 in Pasadena, California, where Horace, Jr., was a bookkeeper in a bank.

In 1910, William H. and "Ondina" (census statistics indicate she was Carrie) and son John E. were living in Silver Creek Township, Greene County, Ohio (page 1A).
