COUNSELLOR-IN-TRAINING
(VOLUNTEER)
The
Counsellor-in-Training is in a practical learning position.
The person in this position is responsible to his/her Counsellor for
duties assigned to him/her. Minimum age for this position is 15 years old.
This is a voluntary position.
The
duties of the Counsellor-in-Training are:
To assist the Counsellor in the supervision of campers within his/her cabin.
To take
charge of the campers in his/her cabin for short periods.
To
attend daily camp meetings.
To help
ensure the safety and physical well-being of each camper in his/her care.
To be a
positive and supportive member of the camp leadership team.
To be
prepared to plan and instruct games or other activities as requested the
Director.
To set a
positive example for his/her campers.
To
participate in the self-evaluation process.
Counsellors-in-Training
are expected to take part in the Leadership Training Program put on by the
Program Director prior to, or during, the camping season.
Counsellors-in-Training
are not permitted to leave the camp without the permission of the Director.
