Press Releases: Local media A Vancouver home-staging company wanted to get their name into the local press. The series of releases I created for them resulted in coverage in The Vancouver Sun and a feature on Breakfast Television. Event announcement A Vancouver spa was hosting a unique series of promotional events and needed press releases to generate coverage in local papers and on television. TV series launch A nationally aired TV series needed a standard new season announcement for media hounds and TV critics. Seasonal feature news release This feature release made it to #2 in Google and #1 in Google News for the search term "healthy resolution." Software launch (search engine optimized) If this release reads a little keyphrase-heavy, it's because it's optimized for the search engines. At the same time, it's a standard software product launch announcement packed with newsworthy benefits. Book launch (search engine optimized) Another search-friendly press release, this book launch announcement has all 10 of the first page listings in Google for "power seller advice." Online marketer takes a stand This press release made it to #1 in Google News for "Internet Marketing." Podcast launch A nutrition web site launched a podcast series to drive traffic to their site and create loyal repeat visitors. This press release announced the podcast launch. Corporate Profiles: CEO profile A CEO profile for an Internet Marketing company that captures the subject's style and marketing focus. Distributor profile In network marketing, distributors drive the business. This distributor profile shows off one successful seller's business-building strategies. Employee profile Internal communications make all corporate stakeholders feel like part of something bigger than themselves. This profile shows what an IT manager brings to his organization. Press kits: Rock band intro letter Aspiring rock stars may be all about the music, but someone's got to get their story out there. This intro letter was sent to media outlets with copies of a new CD for review. TV series episode summaries TV series need episode summaries for program guides and media exposure. Starting from rough outlines the producer put together I fine-tuned these summaries to maximize viewer interest. Radio interview pitch letter A dietitian needed a pitch letter to send to radio hosts who might be looking for guests. This pitch was part of a press release package I created for this client. Newsletters: B2B I developed this business-to-business newsletter for a network-driven company, including writing, editing, and layout for more than 30 issues. Anything I didn't write in this sample issue, I edited. B2C This business-to-consumer newsletter promotes a nutritional supplement company's products and shows how they can be incorporated into customers' daily routines. I wrote, edited, and did layout for more than 15 issues. Writing for the Web: Bed and Breakfast site This White Rock B&B needed to build a marketing communications package from the ground up. I wrote all the copy on the web site and created collateral like brochures and fact sheets. (Note: The site owner has let the domain expire, so the link points to an archived version of the site that has some coding issues.) Free report offer A free report can be the best way to build an opt-in email list that you can send promotional materials to later. This free report offer builds a relationship by offering valuable information in exchange for an e-mail address. Online article (search engine optimized) Creating an article that works for real people as well as search engines is a balancing act. This optimized article drives traffic to an e-commerce site. Newspaper articles: Vancouver Courier This human-interest story features a community garden project that centralized one Vancouver neighborhood. The Voice A front-page article that looks at the issues surrounding the availability of emergency contraception in a college's on-site clinic. Student Life Magazine In this piece I translated my experience as a bank teller into valuable information for students -- how to save money on banking fees. What experience do you have that I could help you create publicity with? Communications pieces: Bookstore advertising This local bookstore needed copy written for advertising supplements in the community paper. I interviewed the staff and worked with the newspaper ad rep to complete these pieces. I also helped the store launch their book club, which brought a whole new group of loyal customers to the store. Consultant offer letter This home-staging company needed a way to introduce their services to small- to medium- housing developers who had the potential to be their biggest clients.
