Sternwheeler Press was created as a publishing company to further the work of
its founder, Marilyn Wheeler. Marilyn is the author of the critically acclaimed Robson Valley Story, a
historical narrative of the Robson Valley since its settlement in the beginning
of the twentieth century. First published in 1979, the Robson Valley Story sold out despite two separate
printings, and residents and scholars since have been clamouring for a
re-print. Rather than simply sending the original manuscript to the presses again, Marilyn
extensively revised and updated the volume, including stories from the present ‘old-timers’ and information gleaned from public sources such as libraries and newspaper
archives.
The Robson Valley Story: A century of dreams was launched in the new Beanery restaurant in McBride’s Heritage Railway Station on May 4th, 2008. Available in hard cover only.
