At Colour V we know that it takes a good mare to make a good foal; they count for atleast 50% of the genetics.  We pick our mares carefully; not only do they need good bloodlines and conformation, but they need to have a good disposition to make them easy to work with, as that passes on to the foals too.  All our mares are easy to handle and therefore every foal we have had on our ranch has been easy to handle and quick to learn.  We also like to have coloured mares to add to the package.
