More on Running

I went for a run with Warren on Friday, but he set a faster pace than I usually go. It was good for me, as I've developed a bit of a "runner's shuffle"; you know, the least amount of effort/path of least resistance kind of stuff. Our run shook me out of that in a hurry. I ended red-faced and more out of breath than my last 5km run, even though there were a few rest walks thrown in. I was pretty damn motivated when the smart ass ran backwards a few times; having a bit of a competitive spirit, which he obviously has figured out, that sure stuck in my craw!

Today I ran slower than Friday but a helluva lot farther than I've gone before. Seven kilometres in fact, and I felt fantastic when I finished. I've got a goal of being able to run 10km by next March. If I keep this up, I may be able to do it by the end of 2006. And perhaps a bit faster than I have been if I stop shuffling along and get moving!
