Ashlu "Mini-Mine"

This is the lower, easier 2-3 km section of the 'Mine Run'.

Class: IV, some continuous stretches, several harder drops.
Character: medium volume creek, boulder gardens
Season: Summer and Fall
Time: 1-? hrs
Distance: 3 km
Gauge: On the river right, downstream side of the bridge at Mile 25.
0.6 is medium, 0.4 low.
Scenery: great - high mountain peaks, hanging glaciers, few other paddlers
Special hazards: There is always the possibility of wood. You may want to scout the harder drops. Do not miss the take-out (if you wonder why, have a look what loomes below).

Directions: Same as for Ashlu "Play Run" to bridge with gauge (mile 25). Continue for another 3 km. Put in is a short bushwhack down to the creek (10-15 minutes). You should reach the river at a calm canyon section. Take-out is at the bridge (mile 25).

Description: Short but very lively run with good drops, some of them more complex. Scout the small falls just above the bridge.
