Our Program: Preparing for the School Years

Castleview's comprehensive program prepares children for their school years by challenging both their minds and their bodies. Once a day the children separate into their groups and have circle time. This is a structured time for learning about interesting weekly topics, for singing songs and playing games in a more focussed atmosphere. Each week, there is a class of French instruction, giving the children early exposure to another language and culture.

Every second week, our children participate in dance instruction which teaches coordination and movement in a fun format. Our centre also has a computer which is used regularly for instruction and play. Each day, the children get a full fare of physical activity both outdoors on the playground and inside during group play. Our four activity rooms give the children a full range of activities to choose from during free play times. There is always an art project underway, floor activities, play with large and small toys, drama and dress-up, theme games, and quiet space for books and puzzles. This variety allows each child to develop in many areas, all while picking up the social skills that will serve them for a lifetime.
