Sleepy Jenni was heading up to bed,
It was finally Christmas Eve.
Sugar plums dancing in her head,
Angels singing from the trees.

Daddy told her of the story,
Jesus born of this day.
People rejoiced and praised him,
The Christ savior as he lay.

And then her eyes closed slowly,
Daddy tip toed down the stairs.
Lit the lights upon the tree,
Sparkling with tinsel and angel hair.

Now Jenni awoke much later,
Sweet music filled the air.
Down the stairs she did creep,
To a party she would share.

Christmas ornaments were dancing,
Toy soldiers led the parade.
Her Teddy ornament twirled,
The popcorn garland she had made.

The harps she had hung so gingerly,
Strummed along with the toy drums
The little organs were played by,
Baby snowmen and their moms.

Till all of a sudden a noise did come,
A thumping and a crash.
Before Jenni had a chance to blink,
Ornaments were hung back in a flash

And who do you think walked into the room,
A jolly laugh had he.
Asking Jenni why she was not in bed,
Where all good children should be.

That's when daddy picked her up,
And carried her back to bed.
For Jenni was fast asleep,
Ornaments dancing in her head.
