My experience has involved me in product development, trouble-shooting, and mechanical design of custom processing and industrial machinery around the world. A high energy level has enabled me to work under pressure for prolonged periods.

I have worked for a variety of small to medium size engineering and manufacturing business. The projects have been diverse and the general job description “anything that needs doing” has provided a very well rounded experience.

Selection and packaging of compressor components.
Assistance in implementation of ISO 9000 certification, PDM, and new company drafting procedures.

March 1995 – March 2001. Johnson Industries Ltd.
Johnson Industries designs and manufactures industrial braking systems. I was responsible for the manufacturing and customer support for the Elevanja line of brakes from the Richmond, BC plant. During my tenure here I reduced the cost of manufacturing and instituted an inventory control system.
Other duties:
Assist sales department and customers in determining the correct brakes.
Design of custom brakes and modifications. (Pro/E and AutoCad)
Design of electrical control, hydraulic circuitry and manifolds.
Determine which manufacturing stages are to be contracted out.
Responsible for quality assurance and on time delivery.
Writing of user and maintenance manuals.
Field inspection service.
January 1993 – February 1995. Self-employed.
Freelance and contract drafting and design.
February 1991 – December 1992. Neptune Dynamics Ltd.
Neptune Dynamics designs and installs custom processing machinery, primarily for the fish and canning industry.
Duties:
Design and drafting for custom machinery.
Programming of control programs for machine control. (PLC, micro-processor and PC based.)
Testing of prototypes.
Outsourcing of production. (All production was outsourced.)
Supervision of production and final QA.
Installation and customer training.
SKILLS
Proficient in AutoCad (R3 – current), SolidWorks (2001 – current) and ProE (R17 – 2000i^2) design drafting and finite element packages.
Able to program in C and assembly languages.
Knowledgeable of a wide variety of production methods.
