Fawcett House

The Fawcett house at 4532 Arthur Drive is currently occupied by Ron and Kathy Kwasnicki and their family. They have enthusiastically continued the preservation and restoration of this large formal Craftsman style house which was built in 1920 for Arthur Fawcett.

Fawcett was a partner in the Lanning, Fawcett and Wilson department store at the head of Delta Street in Ladner --known simply as 'The Big Store'. The style, size and embellishment of this, the second house built for Fawcett, reflects the growing prosperity and status of a successful merchant.

Later the home was owned for many years by Len Kirkland, who operated the Delta Freight Lines, on Chisholm Street. Ron and Kathy are to be commended for the tasks they have undertaken in the on-going preservation of this highly visible heritage home.
