Over the years, many model airplane club meetings were held in their home in Burnaby and Many club newsletters were prepared on their dining room table. Jacquie & Frank both supported the instruction of young modellers. Despite personal health problems in her later years, Jacquie's Favourite model plane club activities included Annual Club Barbecues at their home, Fun fly activities at the Richmond Rice Mill Flying site, which involved flying instruction for new controline modellers, and the Annual Christmas Banquets and model airplane auctions. She loved nature and was an accomplished artist as illustrated in her floral paintings and other subjects. A walk on the waterfront at Jericho Beach with Frank and their three spaniels was a favourite outing. As a member of the Anglican Church, she had a deep faith in God, and a personal dedication to her family and friends. She was known to have a sincere concern for the well being of her fellow club members and their families. She believed that life was a very special gift of God, and she lived it to the full, but she played by the rules. On April 5, 1996, just 3 weeks after celebrating her 68th birthday on March 15, 1996, Jacquie Borden passed away at her Burnaby home. Her personal thoughtfulness and caring for others will remain with us always. Thank you Jacquie for sharing your love .You have touched many lives in such a positive way and your example will never be forgotten.
