Playoff
Performers
There is a difference
between the way hockey is played in the regular season
versus the playoffs. Some players excel in the regular
season, but wilt at playoff time while others bring up
their game a notch -- or two -- when the season is on the
line. This list will allow you to compare the average
points per game of several Canucks.
There have been 484
Canucks that have played in the regular season. Of those
players, the average stay in Vancouver is 120 games.
About half of those Canucks played in the playoffs. Of
those 241 players, their average number of career games
played is 15. Since 1970-71, there have been 67 Canucks
that have played in both 120 regular
season games and 15 playoff games. These
are the players that will appear on the list below,
sorted by net points per 80 games.

Notes
* Stats for current players up to the
end of the 2009-10 season.
(G) - indicates goaltenders (which explains why they
don't get many points)
For both the regular
season and playoffs, there are four columns. GP
is the number of career games played. Pts
is the number of career points. The Avg
is the number of points divided by the number of games.
The Per 80 column is the average
multiplied by 80. This gives a sense of how many points a
player would have recorded in a "season".
The NET
is the difference between the playoffs and the regular
season. A positive number means the player had a higher
points-per-game average in the playoffs. A negative
number means the player had a higher points-per-game
average in the regular season.
