Notes
Stats are broken down by team, not franchise. Codes are
the standard Team Codes that I use to differentiate
between franchises that play in the same city.
Cities/States that have had two franchises include
Atlanta (Flames and Thrashers), Colorado (Rockies and
Avalanche), Minnesota (North Stars and Wild), and New
York (Islanders and Rangers).
The Seasons
column shows the years that the Canucks have played
against the specified team. The first year is the
start-year of the earliest season. The second year is the
end-year of the latest season. For example, a season
of 1976-82 means the Canucks played the team from 1976-77
to 1981-82. In the playoffs, the Years
column represents the actual year or years that the two
teams met in the playoffs. When a single year is listed,
it means the Canucks met this team only once in the
playoffs. If two years are listed, the Canucks have
played this team at least twice. For example,
1994-2007 means that the Canucks played this team for the
first time in 1994 and most recently in 2007. For
complete game records, see One Game at a Time.
There are
three additional columns for playoff stats. SP (Series
Played) is the number of different playoff years that the
Canucks have met this team in the playoffs. SW
(Series Won) is the number of times the Canucks have won
a series against the specified team. SL
(Series Lost) is the number of times the opponent won the
series.
The GF
column is the number of goals the Canucks scored
in games against this team. Note that the NHL does not
count shootout goals -- even the winning goal -- as a
goal for or against. The second number in the column is
the shootout-deciding goals. For example, if the
goals for is listed as 66+1, it means the Canucks scored
66 goals in regulation time and overtime and won one game
in a shootout. The GA column is the
number of goals scored against the Canucks plus the
shootout-deciding goals against. The GD
is the "goals for" (not including the
shootout-deciding goals) minus the "goals
against". For complete shootout results, see Shootout
Shots.
The Win%
is the standard winning percentage used by the NHL. The AWP
is the Adjusted Winning Percentage. Starting in 1999-2000, losses in
overtime count as a single point. Regular season wins are
listed as Wins+Overtime Wins, regular season losses are
listed as Losses+Overtime Losses. Shootout wins and
losses are treated the same as overtime wins and losses.
Since there are no overtime loss points awarded in the
playoffs, the standard winning percentage is not
adjusted.
Statistics are current to
the end of the 2009-10 season.
