Paritek Versions

Paritek, like other programs, continues to evolve and improve over time. These are some of the features and fixes that have been made to the program. If you are using an older version, you may want to upgrade to the latest version.

Version 3.14 New Features

Buttons on envelope entry window to print donation details or duplicate receipt

One time receipts may be edited if they have not been printed

Button to print receipt on adjust receipt window

Document name now included when viewing Windows Printer Properties

Report of envelope numbers not assigned includes how many years a family has had their number

Browse windows with entry locators have "Tab" button to perform search

Ability to skip one or a range of envelope numbers when assigning alphabetically

Version 3.14 Bug Fixes

Printing detailed receipts now has correct amount listed in 53rd Sunday

Export Project Advance window no longer defaults to A: drive

Detailed donation receipts print receipt number correctly on second page

Increased width of certificate fields to ensure that text prints without cutting off pieces of the right-most letters

Upper name and address moved up slightly on Project Advance pledge cards

Marriage and Confirmation letters and cards include signature or line

When moving between family information tabs, screens refresh and scroll to top

When adding a new member, program changes may prevent some rare problems

Version 3.13 New Features

Utility to copy all envelope numbers from one year to the next (without selecting and assigning numbers)

Report of current envelope users that will not receive an envelope box next year

Special collection codes can be flagged as "no longer used"

Receipts may have 500 characters of "fine print" text printed on them

One time receipts may be printed without special collection description

Labels have option to include postal code on same line as city

Family "Page 2" (comments) may be password protected separately

Family information by special collection report now includes totals

Certificates with few detail lines have better spacing around primary name

New custom variables added: "Age in Years" and "Other (non-home) phone"

Banking information report can now print active, inactive or both

Utility to delete bank.txt (exported bank information) file

Includes Paritek Backup version 1.05:

Backup procedure checks for open files before starting (in case another copy of the program is running)

Help About window has direct link to my email and my current address

Version 3.13 Bug Fixes

Windows now open entirely within program frame (when possible)

One character custom fields now wide enough to allow entry of one character

Additional error checking when setting custom numeric fields

Labels for envelope boxes parameter window shows correct range of numbers

Report of all categories prints family names as well as individuals

Various reports and labels no longer print individuals marked as "never print"

First Communion and Confirmation certificates only print baptized date if no information recorded about baptized place

All certificates include "as recorded in... Church" (with a capital C)

Selecting an individual for a one time receipt returns their address as well

Grade field now checks "K" or 1 to 12/13 correctly

If only one time receipts have been entered, report of total donations can still be printed

Convalidated marriage certificates no longer indicate "in conformity with the laws of this province"

Printing family detail listing now takes user access into account when determining which sections to print

Project Advance pledge cards allow for vertical adjustment of printed text

Querying on donations equal to 0.00 (zero) now works

Now able to print Annual Spiritual Report even if no sacraments entered

Income tax receipts must actually be sent to printer (not just previewed) before being finished and messages indicate time before finishing is allowed

Weekly donation report counts number of gifts correctly

Deleting an envelope number should work reliably when delete button enabled

Cannot print, export or transfer banking information to the following year if that year's envelope numbers have not been set up

Banking information can be changed even when pre-authorized donations started in a previous year

When the program finds banking information with no related contribution record, it can be added on the fly

Calendar no longer allows user to move one year in the past or future if that month is out of range

Custom report and letter labels now combine family members when asked

Version 3.12 New Features

One time receipts with a special collection or comments will have this printed on the receipt

Area on family entry window indicates "In" or "Out" of boundaries

The Help About Paritek window has a direct link to my email address

Version 3.12 Bug Fixes

Printing one batch of receipts no longer prevents another batch from being started

When entering weekly donations, name and address are still visible after saving donation

Marriage certificates printed before the marriage have the wedding date as the printed date

Confirmation letters should show entire parish name

Exported Annual Spiritual Report shows the same information as the printed version

Postal codes with six characters and no space now tested correctly

When printing families by name with full names, individuals with birth dates now show full name as well

In the "Donations for one contributor" report, when selecting a name with no donations, the window displays $0.00

When entering weekly donations, clearing the envelope field will not allow an amount to be recorded against the previously found contributor

Version 3.11 New Features

Print 2005 version of Project Advance pledge cards (with campaign slogan)

Prepare and print receipts for a single family status code

Receipts may have web site without including FMV, eligible amount, etc.

Empty envelopes for special collections and non-Sundays now allowed and reported

Labels for envelope boxes allow blank labels at start of report

When assigning individual envelope numbers for next year, family start date appears on window

If sort name matches surname, cursor is positioned at the end of the sort name

Annual spiritual report includes percentages of men, women, children and teenagers

Sponsor included on confirmation notification letters and cards

Version 3.11 Bug Fixes

Landscape confirmation register now allows up to 15 detail lines per page

Button to "finish" receipts now has a confirmation window

Detailed income tax receipts note empty envelopes

Labels for envelope boxes range check on year now works for multiple years

When selecting contributor in one time receipts, province now updated if different from system default

Editing banking defaults and not creating a record when asked no longer causes program to crash

Exporting families in one category uses correct headings

When reporting a deletion to periodical subscription list, program now reports old address

When asked if you want to tag a subscriber with a non-printable family status, program does not tag them if you answer "no"

Confirmation and marriage notice letters will not be printed if baptizing parish is not entered.

Pressing Enter on banking tab does a "change" instead of a "save"

Cannot delete an individual (family member) that has a current donation record

Right justified fields in custom reports have dots before, not after field

Animation on Paritek splash window should work more smoothly

Windows, reports and labels now allow for street address up to fifty characters

Preparing a single receipt for the last name on file now possible

Attempting to add a second donation record to one contributor with no envelope number sets internal counter correctly

Version 3.10 New Features

Export menu (about 30 new menu options) includes options similar to existing reports plus options to export all families, all individuals, all weekly donations, all yearly receipts and all sacrament registers

Preauthorized donations (encrypted files for banking information, create export file for bank, print donations, transfer directly to donations file)

Certificates now use up to five different fonts; parish address may appear on top, bottom, or not at all; signature graphic can be printed; different sacraments may have different graphic sizes; baptisms have more room for notations

One-time receipts improved; save and print several at a time; receipt can be associated with an existing family or individual; donation summary reports include these receipts; contributors can have more than one receipt per year

Contribution receipts conform to new, 2005 Canada Revenue Agency requirements (web site included)

Browse individuals by user defined key (first name, occupation, etc.)

Optional "Thought of the Day" splash window; Paritek splash window now optional

Email addresses provide direct link to default email (click link to send email)

Areas now split into areas and streets (family areas may be validated without streets being defined); house numbers per street may be odd, even or both

Report of areas sorted by area or street

Changing a street definition from one area to another gives option to update families living on the street

Toolbar button to print a user-defined custom report

Batch processes now have warning if user tries to cancel before finishing

Record updates to periodical subscription list using batch procedures (by envelope usage, donations, or selection); print or email changes

Transfer names from "Labels by Selection" to a category (allows quick entry)

Print labels based on contributions to a special collection

Ability to record empty envelopes and report on "attendance"

New variables for custom reports including blank space or blank line

When a family or individual has more than one phone number, the home number appears first (on reports and browse windows)

Advance Grade routine give option to clear school code after "graduation"

Option to print blank labels when numbers not consecutive on labels for envelope boxes

Project Advance account number window has "Tag All" and "Untag All" buttons

Select names based on Project Advance print flag for custom reports

When selecting envelope numbers for next year, option to ignore donations if family registered after a specific date

Donations on detailed family information report now optional

Option to print labels and reports in "Surname, Given Name" format

If donations are not entered during the week of collection, the program asks you to check the date of collection

Includes Paritek Backup version 1.04:

If files exist on second diskette and user chooses not to use the diskette, the program prompts for another diskette

If backup cancelled between diskettes, program records as "incomplete"

Version 3.10 Bug Fixes

When tagging or untagging labels by selection, program removes any leftover codes from DOS version

In death register, the year may be the year of death or the year of the funeral

Salutation for letters check box actually stays checked

If postal code changed by the program, user key also changed if needed

Annual Spiritual Report headings now more descriptive (general statistics as of today, sacraments reported for specific year)

When editing label definition, Alt-S for Save now works

Purge weekly donations and yearly receipts have progress windows that actually report progress

Printing envelope users in portrait mode now takes family status into account

When starting a new page, line count reset to zero (for blank lines every __)

Date buttons and range checks on Totals and Total Graph reports

Receipt numbers are now able to go past 32,000 (up to 8 digits)

Some reports did not access system defaults properly, so some options didn't always work

Buttons to change or delete envelope numbers from the family window should work more reliably
