The area around southern Vancouver Island is really one of the best places for sea kayaking. We can load up our boats and be in some of the most scenic paddling locations in less than 30 minutes. Just launch your boat at Oak Bay Marina and paddle out to the east side of Discovery and Chatham Islands to see this for yourself. No matter what the weather we can usually find some place to paddle year round.

The main purpose of this site is to provide interested paddlers with convenient spots to launch their boats. The Launch Sites page displays where parking for these launch sites is located. If you aren't familiar with the area you can get directions from your home to the parking location. There are also checkboxes that will allow you to display further information:

• Lunch stops
• Camping
• Points of Interest
• Debriefing locations. Where to go after the paddle for coffee or hot chocolate and a snack
• Bailout spots, just in case the weather changes

Each of the launch sites will eventuallyits own page. There you will find some pictures of the launch site. There is also a brief description of the parking, beach access and some comments on the launch site. Some launch site pages may also include kml and/or pdf files showing routes of paddles as well as a link to pictures taken on the paddle. You will need to have Google Earth install on your pc to view the kml files.
