THE OFFICIAL WEBSITE OF

THE DOUGLAS BROTHERS

The band, a highly entertaining mid-western urban/rural folk duo, is made up of the two brothers, Larry and Wayne.

At age seven, Wayne was given an acoustic guitar for Christmas, while Larry received a bass. After one frustrating month they swapped instruments and began touring. Their life during this time paralleled that of many other musical families.

They cut their musical teeth playing flophouses and fowl suppers throughout the midwest. They became very popular with the listening public at these venues. This led to the recording of their first album, “The Douglas Brothers – Live at Home”. It is currently out of print.

At this time it is believed they realized that unless they wanted to be cheated by greedy booking agents for the rest of their lives, one of them would have to return to school. They drew straws and Larry lost. Wayne continued touring as a bass soloist. The Douglas Brothers were reunited about fifteen years later and have been touring together ever since.

They have been appropriately described as a fun and perky band.
