Honda Scooter Owners Index

MyScoot Scooter page
In the time since I'd published my various Honda scooter sites, I've been fortunate to have quite a few people from around the world e-mail me about their scooter projects. These projects range from simply getting an older scooter to run properly to setting up a scooter for cross country trips to making a unique custom using older scooters as a base. While I've usually provided links from pages dealing with that specific brand of scooter, I thought a separate index of these sites would prove useful.  So whether your scooter is a 1985 50cc Honda Spree  or a 250cc Honda Helix, a  read of the sites below should give you some idea of scooter ownership and what it entails.  The custom scooters may also inspire you to do something with a scooter to fit a specific purpose .  Recycle that scooter!
I've separated the index into two sections. The first is pages from my site and the second is other Honda owners sites. If you have , or know of, an informative Honda scooter owners website, please e-mail me .
I am constantly amazed at how adaptable scooters are and the variety of uses people put them to.

April, 2006

Colins 1985 Honda CH250 Elite ~  Colin put a lot of miles on his Elite and set his scooter up for touring. He belonged to a local motorcycle touring club which just goes to show you motorcycles and scooters can co-exist.

Franks High performance Honda ~ Frank transformed a 1989 250 Elite scooter into a fire breathing dragster. Frank was an afficiando of two stroke scooters but performed some pretty standard four stroke modifications to his Honda.

Steves Stretched Honda ~ Steve is a Honda motorcycle mechanic and assembled a custom urban assault vehicle.

Ian and the in-laws ~ On a visit to the in-laws Ian was presented with a somewhat unusual request. The brother in-laws scooter was defunct but Ian accepted the challenge and dove headfirst into the challenge. Good inspirational piece about scooter repair by a self confessed handyman with no prior knowledge of scootering.

Barrys Vision ~ Barry wrote me to ask some questions but ended up educating me. Interesting read for those wondering whether an older Honda 50cc scooter motor can be modified. Essential reading if you are ordering parts from a European manufacturer or retailer as it explained a long running mystery of the scooter model Honda called "Vision".

Davids Honda Clone ~ David had decided his brand new scooter, a Honda "clone", needed better performance and proceeded to do so by using parts manufactured for other brands of scooters. A good lesson why you shouldn't give up when someone tells you "we don't make that part for your scooter".

Scotts Recumbent Elite 150 ~ Scott turned his mild looking Elite 150 into a sleek looking recumbent. You have to check out the pictures as there is no way words can describe it.

Road Test ~ I'd lumped together a number of  "Driving impressions" from readers and magazines who had something to say about driving and owning a Honda 250 Elite.

Bills Quest for the Ultimate scooter ~ Originally in the market for a powered bicycle, Bill recounts his experience with finding the "perfect" scooters.

The Scooter Connection ~ I had an interesting e-mail from Gary, a former scooter shop owner in the 80s. For some interesting recollections of Honda scooters and what a "steel enema"means this page should put a smile on your face.

Jon's 1985 Aero NB50 Scooter ~ It was bound to happen sooner or later. Jon decides to do a frame up restoration of an aero 50 with all brand new parts. The trials and tribulations of scooter restoration.

Joes 1984 Aero 125 Scooter ~ Joes tale of a scooter "parts bike" he brought back to life.

Randys 1993 Elite 50 ~ Randy installs a 65cc kit, expansion chamber, big bore carb etc.

Randys 1993 Elite 50 Revisited~  Randy stuffs in a newer style dio motor (1994+) an 85cc kit etc. Also a preview of Randy's third revision with a 100cc stroker kit.

50cc Honda Chopper  ~ Well of course theres Harley Davidson  and then theres the Lambretta/Vespa choppers from Scootering magazine but this ambitious project was the first Honda 50cc I'd seen chopped. If you've been having trouble finding body parts for your Honda scooter, consider this option.

Honda Metropolitan CH50 ~ Brad had a Metro 2 and modified his scooter to bring it up to the unrestricted Metropolitan version. Photos and parts numbers as well as other Metropolitan/Jazz links.

John's scooter projects ~  John managed to build some unique vehicles out of old Honda Sprees. Check out the wheelie machine and 3 wheeler if you have an older Spree in the carport abd need some inspiration.

Jory's 3 wheeler ~   A couple of "recycled" Honda ch150's get turned into a practical and economical runabout.

Frankenscooter ~ Andrew has a CT90 Honda he uses for commuting that had gone through two engines over the years. He found a 150cc Honda Elite scooter motor and decided to try that as the next power "upgrade".   Great inspiration for all those Honda Cubs with blown motors.
