Requiem

Requiem

May 11, 2007

Recreation one of my favourite movie posters.

I created the statue for this.. Most of the other props range from light modifications of size to complete retexturing and in some cases combining props from different sets or adding primitives and giving them matching textures.

I created the marble textures that I used on a number of things.

The pedestal is my first go at creating a custom bump map. (It is intentionally a bit different from the movie poster.)

The fog was done with stretched cube primitives. The back one has a multicoloured cloudy texture and adjustments to specularity, ambience and opacity.

The front one just has a pale blue/grey colour, also with surface adjustments.

Finally, I overlayed the entire picture with the same texture I used on the back cube.

I actually seem to have better results with this method than with fog creation tool so far... and it doesn't take hours to render ;)

Composed in DAZ Studio with some postwork and lots of texturing in Paintshop Pro.
