Robertson Creek Hatchery
The hatchery is open daily from 8 am to 4 pm. A series of large rearing tanks and ponds contain fish throughout the year. A fish ladder into the hatchery provides opportunities to observe fish migrating and a viewing area is located on one side of the ladder to enhace viewing. Fish reaching the hatchery have negotiated their way through the large fish ladder located in Stamp River Provincial Park. Viewing Highlights - Beginning in late August adult trout and salmon begin to arrive at the fish ladder. Belted Kingfishers are a common sight in this area. Directions - From Highway 4 just west of Port Alberni take the Sproat Lake Park turnoff onto Central Lake Road. It is 6.3 km to the access road into the hatchery and another 0.9 km to the hatchery parking area. For more information contact - Robertson Creek Hatchery |
