How to make an autorun DivX

You will need the following software for this guide:

DivX CD Launcher

DivX 3.11 Alpha or whatever codec you used to encode your movie.

For those of you who want do something cool with their new encoded DivX movie, you can use an autorun program that will automatically pop up when you insert the disc into your CD or DVD drive.  Users will then have a choice of things like playing the movie, or even installing the DivX codec if you don't already have it installed.

Before starting, I would suggest that you have all the movie covers, your DivX movie, and DivX installation package all in the same folder where you have the laucher program saved.

First unzip DivX Launcher.  Then start the iniMaker1.exe.

In the player section, you can leave it the way it is.  I haven't found a need to change this and it works fine the way it is.  In the Movie section, you'll want to type in the exact name of your movie here and give it a name.  The Images section just lets you choose the image for the front, back and thumbnail image that is displayed in the DivX CD Launcher program.  In the DivX section you'll want to select the DivX installation package.  Then you can select the language for whatever you want and you can write up a synopsis of the movie in txt format if you like and put it in.

When you're done save and overwrite the previous ini file.  Then when you start the DIVXRCG.EXE, you should see something like the picture shown below.

Here you can check to see if everything works properly before you burn the movie to a CD.  But make sure you have all the images and your movie in the same directory as the program or you will not be able to see if it works or not.  So if you press the play movie button, your movie should start playing and if you press install DivX, then the DivX setup screen should appear.

When you've decided that everything is good, then burn your avi movie, images, ini file, autorun.inf, divx installer and DIVXRCG.EXE files onto a CD.
