Gold Bar Park and Rundle Heights Park

On June 29 2004, we walked through Gold Bar Park and Rundle Heights Park. Gold Bar Park is on the south side of the river, and Rundle Heights Park is on the north side. The Ainsworth Dyer Bridge (a footbridge) connects the two parks. To get to Gold Bar Park you can go north on 50 Street until you almost reach the river. Then turn right and go past the Wastewater Treatment Plant to the parking lot. From the parking lot we walked east to the footbridge and then across the river to Rundle Heights Park. Both parks have lakes for canoeing and kayaking. In Rundle Heights Park we had lunch at the A.C.T. Aquatic and Recreation Centre. Then we walked back across the footbridge and took the trail along the river back to the parking lot. On the river trail we saw anemonies, and also pelicans catching fish in the river.
