Infrared Image
These Satellite images are provided by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric
Administration's (NOAA) Geostationary Satellite, GOES-10. GOES satellites
circle the earth in a goesynchronous orbit, which means they orbit the
equatorial plane of the Earth at a speed matching the Earth's rotation.
The GOES-10 satillite is positioned at longitude 135W and the equator,
at an altitude of 35,000 km above the Earth. The images shown here are
updated every few hours, one Infrared and one visible image.
