Finally received my second Lasar mag from Aerosport Power on the weekend. They loaned me their timing device so I could install and time them myself. Well, that was an experience. After three phone calls to Ted at Aerosport, we finally figured out that the gears on the back of the engine which drive the mags were in the wrong position, thus making it impossible to get the timing right. Since this was my first experience with mag installs, I was not aware that those gears were easily removable and could be repositioned so the mags could be timed. Once I got that sorted out, the timing went very well, and the two mags are now installed and timed. |

The wiring harness which connects the mags to the controller has to go through the firewall. Of course, the harness comes pre-built with these huge connectors on the mag end, and an even bigger connector on the controller end. Had to cut a LARGE hole through the firewall to allow the plugs to fit through, then had to fab a cover to cover the hole. Bought a SS dinner plate from Princess Auto for $2.49 and used it for material for the cover. Cover on right, wiring harness plugs below. |
