Co-pilot door done

Finally finished installing the co-pilot door. The door install is a lot of work and I'm not finished. However, the door works, the latches work, the gas strut holds it open, and the fit is OK. Now I get to do it all over again on the pilots side.

Canopy stuff

OK. Both doors are glued together and one is partially fitted. I had intended to remove the canopy after the doors were fitted and get the headliner installed in a downtown upholstery shop. That wasn't going to work so the headliner will have to be installed in the plane.
So.... I just finished installing the canopy and epoxied the front section to the airframe. I ran a good fillet of epoxy arount the section to blend it in as best as I could.

Glued the doors together

Glued the first door together. I need to do a better job of masking.
Picture is of the pilot door opening, The dark part along the edge is the material that I had to add in order to get the proper clearance to the door.

And more door stuff..

Doors are going slow. Apart from the fact that I'm having a little motivational trouble, I'm having to build up the lip around the pilots side door opening quite a bit. That has taken several smaller build ups to get it within the specs.
The photo shows a reinforcement which is bonded into the door before the two halves are bonded together. This is for the gas strut to push on I think.
I switched my epoxy to the West Systems epoxy with the 206 hardener. This sets up much faster than the stuff I was using, and does so in about 4-5 hours at the temps my shop is at.
