Engine mounted!

Engine is mounted ! Front gear is fixed in place and things are coming along very well.

Had to re-arrange the furniture in the garage, but I can fit the plane in at an angle and have enough room to work on the cowling...which is next..

On the gear !!!

A good day. I put the plane on the main gear today. I used an engine hoist to lift the fuselage high enough to get the gear legs into their sockets. They were a very tight fit and it took some doing, but its done.

The gear just clears the garage door and the plane sits a lot higher now than it did. Next is nose gear and then the engine....

Engine here, wiring done....?

Wiring is done as far as I can go so.....
Drove to Kamloops on Wednesday and picked up my engine. It is a thing of beauty. However, since we could not get Unison to deliver the second mag which was ordered last May, the engine does not have mags as yet.
There must be a lot of RV-10's being built, since there were a large number of IO-540's on the floor, waiting to be shipped .

And on it goes....

Removed the panel today to do the rest of the wiring that I can't do whilst it is on the plane. This is a little bit scary, but I think I can sort it out. Hopefully I labeled everything....

Still Wiring

It's been a while since I updated this cause when you are wiring, it seems you do a lot of work and have very little to show for it. Thats not true, but it is hard to take a picture of more wires added to an existing wiring bundle. However, this picture shows the connections for the left wing. There is: trim wiring, nav lights, landing lite, pitot heat, and strobes, yet to be run is stall warning and fuel level wires. Fuel level and stall warning could have gone into the same connector as the trim, but as they say, hindsite is 100%.....
