The open letter to the parents of a child diagnosed with any developmental disability!

Yes, by all means I feel very honored to recommend the AIT and Karon Shear for your child’s benefit.

There are amazing changes in Elizabeth’s development started right after AIT and continuously showing up every day. It is no doubts that AIT is not comparable to any other treatment and serves not only autistics but also everyone.

Elizabeth stopped plugging ears; she connects, communicates and grows rapidly physically and mentally. She is like from huge battle with overwhelming noises, which makes other senses dysfunctional completely. She still is extremely sensitive about noises but she T A L K S about it and is A W A R E of it.

Elizabeth becomes extremely social. Her eye contact is at regular rate, the highest rate according to “Son Rise” scale. She can accomplish any task when she understands the instruction. She jumped into “hiking”, “dancing”, appreciating uncertainty of any kind, including new places, new people, new schedules, new food, new settings, and new music. She started to behave identically to my first daughter who has very high IQ measured in 2 different countries. There are so many changes that listing them up may take to much time.

My recommendation for you before you attempt the treatment is to read the books; Karon has about dr. Berard, and about 25 children after AIT. It would help you to supply certain confidence towards your child and help him/her to start the treatment. Additional positive attitude is very much recommended because your child will come through several levels of changes and can be more “protected” and less” defensive”. Your child needs to know, and he/she can “read” your emotions about his AIT.

The whole process is extremely personal and very much building and bounding your relationship as a family. With an addition to a treatment, which can be enjoyable, when filled up with good associations the following treatment every day surprises can be worked immediately. There is nothing to be concerned about and your child will like it once it starts.

Elizabeth wasn’t checked on her hearing limits and she was fine with Karon’s intuition about setting up her program.

Karon is an absolutely phenomenal practitioner and I cannot imagine a better expert than her. She has been trained straight in the primary source and we are very happy to have her in Vancouver; she can short cut our efforts to care for our children for many years and make them much faster join mainstream.
