Family Mediation
Family Mediation is advantageous and beneficial in family circumstances that are generally not amenable to the courtroom environment. The use of Family Mediation is still relative new in situations that would traditionally seldom end up in a courtroom but would instead simply cause ongoing family dysfunction. Disputes between adult members of the family particularly when the elderly are part of the dispute are well suited to family mediation for the simple reason that the family members must work with each other both during the dispute and often for years after the dispute has been resolved.
Consumer education is required in order to educate families to the reality that family mediation can be beneficial and constructive in numerous family disputes, even when there is no threat of a court action.
Family Mediation is also a growing method of dispute resolution in many better known, traditional and typical situations such as Divorce, separation and disputed wills and estates. Family mediation is considerably less expensive than litigation as a means of dispute resolution and generally produces enhanced results that are able to endure in the long term.
